Summary. The relation between parameters of external breathing (EBF) function and heart rate variability (HRV) was studied in the paiient with chronic obstructive lung diseases (COPD) depending on HRV total power (TP). 98 patients with II-IV stages of COPD were investigated. Investigation was carried out in basal condition and after 15-30 minutes of acute pharmacological test (AFT). Patients were divided into the groups depending on TP of HRV. Results showed, that COPD are characterized by a decrease of EBF and HRV parameters according to a basal level of TP. TP increasing almost didn't influence on EVF parameters and define various reactions of HRV parameters. AFT resulted to untrue increase of FEV parameters and conducted modulation influence on HRV parameters depending on TP of HRV. Key words: chronic obstructive lung diseases, function of external breathing, heart rate variability.
